With more than three decades of experience in workers’ compensation law, and certification by the California State Bar as a Workers’ Compensation specialist, Cheryl Wallach sets the standard in advocating for injured workers.
For recognition of outstanding results obtained for her clients, Ms. Wallach was elevated to partner in 2002. She has an unparalleled track record of achieving favorable results in even the most challenging cases involving serious, catastrophic injuries, and complex medical conditions. She is a dynamic champion across many fields of employment including structure mechanics; public safety officers; clerical employees; gas company employees; telephone workers; entertainment industry employees; State, County, and municipal employees.
As one of the premier advocates for injured workers, Ms. Wallach, is at the forefront of the ongoing battle to obtain just compensation for injured employees. Ms. Wallach currently serves in the prestigious position as elected Director of CAAA (The California Applicants’ Attorneys Association), California’s foremost legal advocacy organization for injured workers. For exceptional longstanding distinguished service, CAAA honored Ms. Wallach with “The Above and Beyond Award”. In 2005 through 2006, Ms. Wallach was elected by her peers for her diligent commitment to injured employees and leadership to the position of President of CAAA’s regional chapter, the Southern California Applicants’ Attorneys Association (“SCAAA”). With extensive knowledge of the law, Ms. Wallach served as a Judge Pro-Tem at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board in Marina del Rey.
For more than three decades and continuing, Ms. Wallach actively empowers workers, especially women, within the workforce to fight aggressively for their rights when injured on the job. In 2010, the Coalition of Labor Union Women (“CLUW”) bestowed upon Ms. Wallach the “Not For Ourselves Alone” award for her tireless dedication to women injured in the workplace. As part of building awareness within the labor community about rights for injured workers, Ms. Wallach, volunteered as a secretary for CLUW.
Ms. Wallach is a leading educator throughout the State in the highly specialized technical field of workers’ compensation law. She is a faculty member of the Labor Studies Program at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, teaching courses about Workers’ Compensation Law and Employee Benefits Law. She is a lecturer at California State University, Dominguez Hills. For CAAA’s educational seminars, Ms. Wallach, lectures to large groups of attorneys, physicians, and judges. Unions frequently invite Ms. Wallach to provide trainings about pitfalls and benefits in the workers’ compensation system.
As part of the ongoing commitment to workplace safety, Ms. Wallach is a member of the Board of Directors of the esteemed social justice nonprofit, Worksafe. Ms. Wallach advocates with Worksafe for health and safety laws. Worksafe fights to protect all of California’s workers, especially those that are most vulnerable to having their rights violated due to being undocumented immigrants, workers of color, or low-wage workers.
Ms. Wallach is honored to have been selected to the Southern California Super Lawyers list in 2006, and 2008 to 2023.
Ms. Wallach was awarded a degree of Juris Doctor in 1991 from the Pepperdine University School of Law. The esteemed Moot Court selected Ms. Wallach for First Place in the 1990-1991 Pepperdine School of Law Trial Advocacy Tournament.
In 1988, she graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish. Ms. Wallach is fluent in Spanish and English. She routinely provides legal seminars to monolingual Spanish workers.
