F&W Attorney, Analisa Swan Receives the 2023 Roz Teller Volunteer of the Year Award for the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley

On 12/3/23, Ford & Wallach attorney, Analisa Swan, was very honored to receive the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley’s (“DPSFV”) Roz Teller Volunteer of the Year Award at the Truman Awards.

Ms. Swan was recognized by DPSFV for Ms. Swan’s outstanding grassroots activism with DPSFV, the Democratic Party, leadership, and service to the community.

Ms. Swan spoke at the event about being extremely proud to volunteer through Democratic activism. She serves as the Legislative, Endorsement, and Political Vice President of the Glendale Democratic Club (“GDC”), serving as GDC’s representative to DPSFV as an Executive Board member of DPSFV. Ms. Swan is also an elected delegate and executive board member of the California Democratic Party (“CADEM”) for Assembly District 44, serving as a Vice Chair of CADEM’s Resolutions Committee, a DNC Biden delegate for Congressional District 30, and an ex-officio member of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party. She is a member of many Democratic clubs and organizations.

Since 2004, Analisa Swan has fought for Workers’ Rights and Safe Workplaces

Ms. Swan highlighted that in her professional career from 2004 and onward, she has been an attorney with Ford & Wallach representing injured workers for California workers’ compensation, FIGHTING for WORKERS’ RIGHTS, DIGNITY, RESPECT, and SAFE workplaces. While on stage, she spoke about Ford & Wallach being a unionized shop through the Teamsters, being very involved in the labor movement, giving a big shout-out and sí se puede to all of the union brothers, sisters, and siblings at the event.

Ms. Swan congratulated all of the other honorees i.e., Truman Legislator of the Year, Los Angeles Supervisor Lindsay Horvath; Moreen Blum Lifetime Achievement Award, the late Honorable Cindy Montañez (acceptance of the award by family); Wellstone Courage Award, Burbank Unified School District (“BUSD”) (acceptance by the BUSD school board) and Glendale Unified School District (“GUSD”) (acceptance by the GUSD school board); and DPSFV affiliated Club Volunteers of the Year.  Ms. Swan thanked them, as well as DPSFV Chair, Sean Rivas; and all of the DPSFV officers and Executive Board members for their incredible energy and work on behalf of DPSFV, and communities in the San Fernando Valley.

Honored with Peer Support

Ms. Swan expressed heartfelt thanks for everything that public schools, educators, administrators, staff, and school boards do for our communities.  Ms. Swan noted that her mother served the community as a 35+ year Glendale public school kindergarten teacher and shop steward of the Glendale Teachers Association union.

Ms. Swan spoke about being a proud out member of the LGBTQIA+ community.  She emphasized the importance of energizing, mobilizing, organizing, volunteering, phone banking, postcarding, texting, donating, voting, and helping elect Democratic candidates.
